Eligibility Oklahoma students can automatically qualify for the program by achieving designation as a National Merit Scholar, National Merit Finalist or United States Presidential Scholar or by scoring at or above the 99.5 percentile on the ACT or SAT. For fall 2009, a sum of the ACT skill area scores totaling 133 is required. For information regarding the required SAT score, please contact the Academic Scholars Program. Out-of-state students may qualify for the program by achieving designation as a National Merit Scholar, National Merit Finalist or United States Presidential Scholar. However, out-of-state student participation is limited, and achieving such a designation does not automatically qualify students for the program. Out-of-state students wishing to participate in the program should contact their college of choice directly for additional information regarding eligibility. Public colleges and universities may also nominate students attending their institution for the program based on criteria established by each institution. Scholars will continue to receive a scholarship each year if they: Maintain full-time enrollment (12 hours in the fall and spring and six hours in the optional summer or January term) each semester. Complete at least 24 semester credit hours each year. Achieve at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average each year.
